In November 1998, 37 independent producers and film professionals from 13 European countries came together during the final workshop of the EAVE Training Programme in Potsdam (Germany) to found a new association – E*M*P*A .
The founding members were hoping and expecting to continue the privileged European network established between them as they realized that exchange of information and close cooperation across European borders is essential for each independent European producer. Six years later, more than 110 members from 24 European countries have joined E*M*P*A, becoming a leading platform and voice for all independent European producers. E*M*P*A is registered in Brussels as non-profit organisation. |
